Rounding to the Nearest Hundred and Thousand (Lesson)
Nearest Hundred
- If the tens digit is 5 or higher, increase the hundreds digit by one and round up to the next hundred.
- If the tens digit is 4 or lower, keep the hundreds digit the same and round down to the lower hundred.
Nearest Thousand
- If the hundreds digit is 5 or greater, raise the thousands digit by one and round up to the next thousand.
- If the hundreds digit is 4 or less, leave the thousands digit unchanged and round down to the lower thousand.
