Download Code Breaker Printable GameObjective
One player is the code maker and creates a secret code using a sequence of 4 colors.
The other player is the code breaker and tries to guess the secret code in 10 tries or less.
Instructions
Start by choosing 6 colors. Color them in or place color markers in the sidebar so both players
can see the options.
Choosing from the 6 colors, the code maker colors in or places color markers into the secret
code area, keeping the code hidden from the code breaker. Colors can be repeated.
The code breaker begins at the first row and makes a guess by coloring in or placing color
markers in the 4 slots. After each guess, the code maker gives clues by marking the clue
boxes next to the row.
A black marker means a color is correct and in the right spot.
A white marker means the color is in the code but in the wrong spot.
An X marker means that color isn’t in the code at all.
Using these clues, the code breaker keeps guessing new color combinations, trying to get
closer to the secret pattern each time. If they match all four colors in the correct order before
running out of rows, they win. If they don’t solve it in ten guesses, the code maker wins and
shows the hidden code.

Printable Game Pieces and Markers
You can also download a set of optional printable markers to go with this game. The set includes colorful code markers and small cut‑out hint pieces you can place in the clue boxes. These are completely optional—kids can just use crayons to color in their guesses and a pencil to mark the clues if that’s easier. These printables are simply a fun extra for anyone who prefers ready‑made pieces without having to mark on the printed game board.
